A Solution to the Gun Control Issue?

As fear of both gun violence on the left, and gun control on the right continues to grow stronger by the day, few reasonable and bipartisan solutions are being proposed. To bring America to a state of relative peace, we must work together and see what solutions actually work towards reducing gun violence. I recently found one solution that conforms to the demands of the pro-gun rights groups to allow law-abiding citizens to carry their weapons without fear of seizure, while giving the pro-gun control side of the debate the ability to remove arms from those suspected of mental instability and aggressive action in a short, temporary period of time.
What I am describing are Gun Violence Restraining Orders (GVRO). They operate much like normal restraining orders as to restrain certain people from owning and using firearms for a very limited time as to give police an edge on possible shooters. These orders could only be initiated by certain family members, and they do not serve as collective punishment towards the populace, and do allow the state to wield unlimited power over gun ownership.
